• Suzana Da Camara

  Suzana discovered her singing voice in the garden-like setting of the Azores Islands – where her family roots grow deep. The Portuguese culture and music have been a major influence on the Canadian-born Suzana. Upon winning a vocal competition in the Azores, a resident radio announcer encouraged her to go into the recording studio. Suzana enrolled in the Music Industry Arts Program at Fanshawe College where she was nominated twice for Best Performance. She paired her lyric and vocal talents with the musical arrangements of Mike Dell and Randall Savoie and the Suzana Da Camara project was born.

  Her new album, “Proof of Love”, explores themes of love, life and relationships in English, French and Portuguese. Suzana produces a fresh, yet vintage-inspired sound that is both familiar yet startlingly different.

  “Proof of Love” takes old and new fans on a spirited romp with “Donnez l’amour” a song that would be right at home in “The Triplets of Belleville”; to heartbreaking ballads like “Il n’y a qu’un homme”; to the quirky lyrics of “You Call Yourself a Man”. Suzana Da Camara uses everything from a children’s choir to violins and trumpets to make their unique vision come alive on “Proof of Love”.

  Their last album-overseen by legendary Canadian Producer, Jack Richardson (The Guess Who, Bob Seger and Alice Cooper)— won them rave reviews from the CBC, Jazz FM and the UK’s Whisperin & Hollerin, as well as two Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards nominations.

  Suzana Da Camara’s playful and passionate sound has international appeal as the she was named as artist of the month on both Portugal’s “Radio Club di Angra” and Japan’s “Yellow Beat Radio”. Their songs have been included on compilations “Rosemount Wine and Song” &”W Network Presents … An Evening With Friends” featuring Norah Jones, Michael Bublé, Ella Fitzgerald, Django Reinhardt and Tony Bennett.

• Rosanna Riverso – “A Voice from the Heavens”

  A professionally trained vocalist, songwriter, and actress, Rosanna Riverso has been performing regularly at countless weddings, corporate functions, concert halls, theatre productions and other special events for the past 16 years. Anyone who has worked with Rosanna recognizes her as a consummate professional who understands all the technical aspects of music and live performance. Anyone who has seen her perform has experienced her deep sincerity, passion, and extraordinary ability to touch hearts. That’s why for years, Rosanna Riverso has been referred to by many as the “voice from the heavens” and her rendition of such classical hymns as “Ave Maria” and “Panis Angelicus” continues to mesmerize.

  Rosanna began her musical studies at the young age of seven, taking classical piano and operatic singing at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She quickly became well known to devoted listeners in her hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, for her early appearances with the Hamilton Children’s Choir and later, for her performances in various concerts and local theatre productions. After years of classical music study, Rosanna dove into the world of songwriting and began experimenting with different genres of music. Her public performances have garnered the young songstress much popularity, especially within Italian communities, as a large part of her repertoire along with many of her self-penned songs are in Italian, reflecting her love of the romantic language and connection with her cultural roots.

  Rosanna’s vocal and musical talents are extremely versatile and to the surprise of many, this Italian lyrical soprano can “switch gears” and easily swing and scat with the best in jazz. In fact, Milwaukee Wisconsin’s Italian Times newspaper said “Rosanna has a smile like Sophia Loren and a story-telling ability like Frank Sinatra”. Her original jazz song “No More” was recently nominated for Best Jazz Recording at the 2007 Ontario Independent Music Awards. Some of her other notable achievements and memorable experiences include: her 1st prize win at the 2006 CHIN Song Festival for her rendition of the classical aria “Nessun Dorma”; her opening performance at the 2008 Canadian Film Centre Gala; being the featured act at a benefit honouring academy award winner Michael Douglas; and opening for legendary crooner, Al Martino.

  Whether she is performing a beautiful aria from a famous opera or scatting to a swinging jazz tune, Rosanna continues to draw crowds in with her majestic voice, gifted phrasing, and incredible range. Currently, she is working on a new album to be released late next year. The successes Rosanna Riverso has already made in a short time speak volumes about what lies ahead for this young singer.
